What do you want to do when you grow up?

Isn’t 18 years old too early for a person to “declare” the future of the rest for their life? Don’t you remember your senior year of high-school when you are put under pressure to pick a major for your 4 years of college? A major that your future might depend on it. These are questions that I think should be reconsidered by anyone pretty much. As for myself, I know for a fact that at that age I wasn’t too founded about myself as a person - about my strengths and weaknesses, about my aspirations in life as I am right now. At this point in my life, after years of traveling and years of contact with people from different cultural backgrounds, I’ve changed my way...

Personal branding for Young Professionals

Personal branding for young professionals is a critical tool in order to prepare for any type of career. I couldn’t agree more with Dan Schawbel, which said in an interview that personal branding is the process by which we market ourselves to others. This is one thing a prospective employer is looking for in a candidate.

Here are few marketing materials you should have:

  1. A well written resume with volunteering works performed in your field on interest
  2. Business cards
  3. Personal website
  4. Portfolio
  5. Blog
  6. Social Network Profiles
  7. Podcast
  8. Video resume

Now, that you have these materials you need to communicate your subject of interest to others, such as attending local social networking places, aka Young Professionals. In this way, you can get a feel of what’s going on in your community, share ideas, make new friends, find potential employers or business partners, exchange business cards, grow professionally and personally as well. Another way, it’s to write on other people’s blog or share important links on your Social Network Profiles.

The power lies within you

Have you ever imagined the perfect scenario where HOPE is portrayed?

Someone's hope can be altered by criticism or false arguments and the "shot" to Everything is Possible is gradually faiding. Hope is the only thing that keep us going and we can't let anyone taking it away from us. Hope is our treasure. Without it, we can't achieve our dreams. This "power" that lies within us can't be stopped but by us only. We gotta keep remind ourselves of the abilities we own in order to reveal our inner strenghts and beauty.
